The films story deals with the life and struggles of an industrialist, Maharaja Mahendra Pratap Singh and his son, who were ruled by the British at the time. The movie begins with Maharaja Mahendra Pratap Singh along with his son, Chhatra Pratap Singh on a journey. A few persons accompany the royal family. The royal family reaches a lush green meadow that is the famous site of the Harappa civilisation. A huge ancient city is found there which is of great importance to the country. It is believed that the city was destroyed by an earthquake and flood. There are ruins of several places around the area and the ruins are believed to be of the Harappa civilisation.
The movie starts with the death of Mahindra Pratap Singh in the hands of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s, Pakistan. His wife, Hemkunt, consoles his wife. A few months after his death, a common man named Kesar Lal sets up a factory in Dholpur, Rajasthan with the help of his friend and is named as Kesar Singh. The factory turns out to be a flop and Kesar Singh loses his life in an accident. This makes him furious. He develops a dislike towards business and aspires to earn money by honest means. His first step towards that is to move to Dholpur, to search for the factory. He sees that the factory is in a dilapidated condition and decides to refurbish it.
