Over years, devotees have observed that this type of worship produces excellent results. Some people even use gold, silver or other valuable materials to make small idols or lingams (in different forms like large spheres or small cubes), and place them in front of the Lord Shiva yantra. These idols are called "lingam" in Sanskrit. It is said that the devotees offer offerings to Lord Shiva in this way to compensate for their past deeds. People don't have any doubts when worshipping Lord Shiva in this way because it is not possible to find out when these offerings were actually made by the devotees.
